Elise is a very special inspiration for us since she is behind of our first collaboration of art. With Elise, we are laucnhing ArtbyMĀ: limited hand-painted editions of our Ceramic Diffuser, each drop will be inspired by the MĀ Japanese Concept.
Creating from the heart, Elise uses organic lines and strong patterns to celebrate the richness and simplicity of life. Her work is an invitation to slow down and contemplate the wonders of detail. Elise is a true artist able to create a universe only painting in one single colour. Her colour, Klein Blue. Through her devotion to the craft, Elise aims to open up a space for reflection. She knows what a #MĀmoment is!!
We love how she made a piece of Art from our Ceramic Diffuser. The process has been a true inspiration to us and can not wait to share more with you.
Elise is art, simplicity, and great elegance. A ray of blue electricity. A spark of sensitivity. And much more!
I was born in France, in the countryside, south of Bordeaux. I then lived ten years in Sweden and recently moved back to my home country to settle in Montpellier, on the Mediterranean coast, with my partner.
I am sitting in my living room, drinking Japanese green tea from a vibrant blue ceramic cup that my friend made. I am looking at the trees swaying gently outside the window and your blend Sensuality is diffusing in the background.
We spent the last few months remodeling our apartment and moved in only quite recently so I’m still figuring that one out. There are so many cozy nooks around the home but sitting under the linden tree on our balcony might be my favorite.
I always start my day by splashing cold water on my face and nourishing my skin with rosehip oil. Then I might do some yoga, meditate or just snuggle up on the sofa with a warm drink before preparing some breakfast and starting my work day.
One of my favorite evening rituals is to read a novel with a glass of sparkling water or kombucha while my partner is cooking us a delicious dinner in our open-plan kitchen. Such a luxurious feeling!
I need to be in a calm and aesthetically pleasing environment to get into my creative bubble so I would usually tidy up my space and maybe light a candle or an incense stick. I always brew a pot of tea before I start drawing. I also have a special playlist I’ve created to help me get into a deep focused state.
I’ve been in love with the brand since the very first time I came across it. The minimalist aesthetic, the attention to detail, the Japanese inspiration, the invitation to pause and be more present to our surroundings through our senses. All of it really resonates with my practice and it felt aligned and quite effortless to create a design for MĀ.
When Esther and Nina invited me to use the ceramic diffuser as a blank canvas, I decided to explore the idea of negative space by painting a blue pattern.
Apart from the ritual of drawing them, I love working with patterns because they are rich in details and offer an opportunity for anyone looking at them to pause and get lost in contemplation. The one I chose for this project is made of many short brush strokes which come together to weave a vibrant and organic surface. The space around the strokes remains empty, revealing the white ceramic texture of the diffuser.
Echoing the Japanese concept of MĀ, there is a harmony and balance between the full and the empty. The silences in between give shape to the whole. The name of the project, FLOW, refers both to the deep meditative state I get into when working on this hypnotic pattern and to the water element omnipresent throughout the experience of using the diffuser.
Apart from the benefits of the creative practice itself, I believe that beautiful intentional objects and images can have a huge impact on our daily mood. By curating our spaces with carefully chosen pieces that speak to us, we can increase our sense of peace and belonging. Art creates deep emotional connections and adds a dose of joy, meaning and playfulness to our lives.
I feel most at peace when I am fully immersed in my drawing process. My mind is empty and I am fully present to the feeling of the brush on the paper and the aliveness in my body. It smells like sandalwood, earthy and sensual, my absolute favorite scent.
My best friend Kim Gerlach (@kim.gerlach.sunandrise). She works with scents and breathwork and always inspires me with her ambition, her resilience and her social skills.
Thank you Elise for sharing your wisdom with us.For more inspiration, follow Elise @elise.esposito

Morning rituals are more than just a series of tasks to check off your to-do list.
They are a powerful tool for setting the tone and mindset for the rest of your day. By taking the time to engage in activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul, you can start your day with a sense of purpose and clarity.
Whether it's meditation, exercise, journaling, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee in peace, morning rituals can help you cultivate a positive mindset and increase your productivity throughout the day.
One of the key elements of a successful morning ritual is starting your day with a positive mindset.
This can be achieved through various practices such as gratitude exercises, affirmations, or visualization techniques. You can also do so while diffusing Vitality Master Blend to set the tone.
By focusing on the positive aspects of your life and setting intentions for the day ahead, you can create a mental state that is conducive to productivity and success.
Remember, your mindset has a profound impact on your thoughts, emotions, and actions, so starting the day with a positive mindset can set the tone for a productive and fulfilling workday.
In addition to setting a positive mindset, incorporating physical activity into your morning ritual can have numerous benefits for your productivity and overall well-being.
Engaging in exercise or movement in the morning can help wake up your body and mind, increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain, and boost your energy levels.
This can result in improved focus, concentration, and mental clarity throughout the day. Whether it's a quick workout, a yoga session, or a brisk walk, finding a physical activity that you enjoy and can easily incorporate into your morning routine can make a significant difference in your productivity and overall workday.
Our MĀ secret: Diffuse ten drops of focus Master Blend essential oil. Breathe in the fresh scent. Feel your body fill up with oxygen while you get your movement. Let your mind stay focused and awake.
Breakfast is often referred to as the most important meal of the day, and for good reason.
Eating a healthy breakfast can provide you with the energy and nutrients you need to fuel your body and brain for a productive workday. Opt for a balanced meal that includes protein, whole grains, and fruits or vegetables.
This could be a bowl of oatmeal topped with nuts and berries, a veggie omelette with whole grain toast, or a smoothie packed with greens and protein powder. Avoid sugary cereals or pastries that can lead to a mid-morning crash.
Also, we recommend considering Ally supplements to make sure you get the essential nutrients and compounds that may be lacking in your diet. Ally is a brand with an Award-winning food supplement developed by a Harvard-trained neuroscientist to reduce anxiety, boost mood and improve your tolerance to stress.
By starting your day with a nutritious breakfast, you'll be setting yourself up for success and giving your body the fuel it needs to perform at its best.
One of the key components of a productive workday is setting goals and prioritizing tasks. Take a few minutes each morning to review your to-do list and identify the most important tasks that need to be completed. Set specific, achievable goals for the day and break them down into smaller, actionable steps. This will help you stay focused and motivated throughout the day.
Prioritize your tasks based on their urgency and importance, tackling the most critical ones first. By setting goals and prioritizing tasks, you'll have a clear roadmap for the day and be able to make progress towards your larger objectives.
At MĀpeople we feature people that inspire us, today we introduce you to Fi one of the former yoga teachers in Flow -, she reflects on her favorite #MĀmoments and her vision for everything related to wellbeing.
Fi favorite's MĀ blend is Good Sleep because it is a cocktail of Mandarin and lavender that smells like pure bliss and relaxation. She reflect it is like the feeling when you’re drifting off to sleep. She likes to use it when she is getting herself ready for bed to help instigate a good quality and restful sleep.
Currently in our studio, FLOW LDN in central London.
My big reading armchair in the lounge by the window, looking out to the trees outside. Perfectly positioned to watch the sunrise.
Fresh coffee in bed, reading a book to my 2 year old daughter.
Enjoying a home-cooked meal with my partner and unwinding on the sofa, candles lit and chill out music on
Take time to close my eyes and focus on breath-work to establish an anchor and focus for my practice. I also like to dedicate my self-practice to someone in my life who needs some TLC so whoever springs to mind before I begin moving, is who I dedicate my practice to.
Environment is really important when it comes to yoga, the perceived ‘small’ details such a lighting, room temperature and aroma have a huge impact on creating a sacred and immersive space in which to get lost in my practice. I really love the different scents from MA and i like the fact I can match a scent to the mood/time of day/style of pratice.
Yoga is renowned for its mental, physical & spiritual benefits. Through the numerous forms and styles available, it creates space both in the mind (by focusing on the breath) and in the body through the sequence and postures.
Yoga is also a great tool to help soothe your nervous system, lower blood pressure and cortisol and generally help you feel more connected and aware of yourself.
For me, it's first thing in the morning (if I wake up before my daughter!) when I have precious time to myself to enjoy a coffee, reading my book & listening to the birds singing from outside. I feel completely at peace and it’s a great start to the day.
The smell would be something invigorating & revitalising like Vitality, as I feel ready to take on the day ahead with energy and positivity.
Invest in your health to prevent needing to invest in your illness.
One of our wonderful yoga teachers, Nadine, who is a walking version of Zen! Her energy is so calm and loving & her classes are very detail focussed including the scent of the room she teaches in.
In today's fast-paced and demanding world, self-care has become more essential than ever.
We all know that taking care of ourselves is important, but often, we find ourselves neglecting our wellbeing amidst the chaos of everyday life. That's why it's crucial to unlock the power of self-care rituals – simple practices that can transform your overall well-being.
These rituals not only nourish your body, mind, and soul but also help you find balance, reduce stress, and boost your overall happiness. In this article, we will explore five simple steps to unlock the power of self-care rituals and revitalize your well-being. So, if you're ready to prioritize yourself and embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-nurturing, let's dive in and uncover the transformative benefits of self-care rituals.
Self-care rituals go beyond the occasional bubble bath or spa day. They are intentional practices that prioritize your well-being and help you establish a healthy relationship with yourself. In our busy lives, it's easy to overlook self-care, but doing so can have detrimental effects on our physical, mental, and emotional health.
By incorporating self-care rituals into our daily routines, we create space for self-reflection, relaxation, and rejuvenation. These rituals act as a reminder to prioritize ourselves, recharge our energy, and cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness. When we take care of ourselves, we are better equipped to navigate life's challenges, manage stress, and maintain overall well-being.
Before we delve into the steps to unlock the power of self-care rituals, it's important to understand what wellbeing truly means. Wellbeing encompasses various aspects of our lives, including physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing.
Physical well-being involves taking care of our bodies through healthy eating, regular exercise, and adequate rest. Mental wellbeing focuses on nurturing our cognitive health, cultivating positive thoughts, and managing stress. Emotional well-being involves recognizing and expressing our emotions in a healthy way. Lastly, spiritual wellbeing involves connecting with something greater than ourselves and finding meaning and purpose in our lives.
Self-care rituals play a vital role in all these dimensions of wellbeing. By engaging in practices that address each aspect, we can achieve a holistic state of well-being. Now, let's dive into the five simple steps to unlock the power of self-care rituals.
The first step in unlocking the power of self-care rituals is to assess your current well-being. Take some time to reflect on different areas of your life and evaluate how you are currently feeling physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Ask yourself questions like: How well am I taking care of my body? Am I experiencing any signs of stress or burnout? Do I feel emotionally balanced? Am I connected to my sense of purpose and spirituality?
Assessing your well-being will provide you with a clear starting point and help you identify areas that need attention and improvement.
Once you have assessed your well-being, it's time to identify self-care activities that resonate with you. Self-care is not a one-size-fits-all approach, and what works for someone else may not work for you. It's important to choose activities that align with your interests, values, and personal preferences.
Reflect on activities that bring you joy, relaxation, and a sense of fulfillment. It could be anything from reading a book, going for a walk in nature, practicing meditation, journaling, or engaging in creative pursuits. The key is to choose activities that nourish your mind, body, and soul.
Now that you have identified self-care activities that resonate with you, it's time to create a self-care routine that works for you. Consistency is key when it comes to self-care, so it's important to establish a routine that you can realistically stick to.
Start by identifying pockets of time in your day or week where you can dedicate to self-care. It could be as simple as waking up 15 minutes earlier to practice mindfulness or scheduling a specific time each day for physical exercise. Remember, self-care doesn't have to be time-consuming or complicated. It's about making small, intentional choices to prioritize yourself.
Implementing and maintaining your self-care rituals requires commitment and discipline. Start by integrating one self-care activity into your routine and gradually add more as you become comfortable. It's important to be flexible and adapt your rituals to fit your changing needs and circumstances.
Don't be afraid to experiment and try new self-care activities. The goal is to find what works best for you and brings you the most joy and fulfillment. Be patient with yourself and remember that self-care is an ongoing journey of self-discovery and growth.
As you embark on your self-care journey, it's essential to monitor and adjust your self-care practices as needed. Regularly check in with yourself and evaluate how your rituals are impacting your overall well-being. If something isn't working or no longer serves you, don't be afraid to make changes and try new approaches.
Self-care is a dynamic process that evolves over time. Your needs and circumstances may change, and it's important to adjust your self-care practices accordingly. Remember, self-care is not selfish. It's a necessary investment in your well-being that will benefit not only you but also those around you.
Self-care rituals can be tailored to address different areas of well-being – physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Here are some ideas to inspire you:
- Physical Self-Care: Engage in regular exercise, prioritize sleep, nourish your body with nutritious food, practice good hygiene, and schedule regular health check-ups.
- Mental Self-Care: Practice mindfulness and meditation, engage in brain-stimulating activities like puzzles or reading, learn new skills or hobbies, and take breaks when needed.
- Emotional Self-Care: Express your emotions through journaling or talking to a trusted friend, engage in activities that bring you joy, practice self-compassion and self-acceptance, and set healthy boundaries.
- Spiritual Self-Care: Connect with nature, practice gratitude and mindfulness, engage in prayer or meditation, explore your beliefs and values, and engage in activities that align with your sense of purpose.
Sometimes, when we add scents to this Rituals we help to maintain the discipline and consistency. That is why, our little MĀ secret would be to add diffusing Master Blends to do it.
To truly unlock the power of self-care rituals, it's important to incorporate them into your daily life. Start by setting aside dedicated time each day for self-care activities. It could be as simple as starting your day with a few minutes of mindfulness or ending your day with a gratitude practice.
Additionally, find ways to infuse self-care into your daily routines. It could be listening to uplifting podcasts during your commute, taking short breaks to stretch and relax throughout the day, or incorporating healthy meals into your meal planning. The key is to weave self-care seamlessly into your daily life so that it becomes an integral part of your well-being.
In conclusion, self-care rituals are powerful tools that can transform your overall well-being. By prioritizing yourself and incorporating intentional practices into your daily life, you can find balance, reduce stress, and boost your overall happiness. Remember, self-care is not a luxury but a necessity. It's time to unlock the power of self-care rituals and embark on a journey of self-discovery and self-nurturing. Take the first step today and witness the transformative benefits of self-care in your life.
At MĀpeople we feature people that inspire us, today we introduce you to Andrea Lems, founder of Maisonette. She reflects on her favorite #MĀmoments and her vision of wellbeing and how she aims to help people live a more conscious life.
Andrea has one of the most beautiful stores in Vienna. Her curated selection of products makes the Maisonette one of the best concept stores in Austria.
Why is Andrea so inspiring to us?
She a curator with great taste and aesthetics in mind. Also, she is a female supporting female by selecting products designed, created or founded by women.
I’m sitting at my desk in my beautiful Store in Vienna. It is sunny outside. It smells so good in here, we love your Oils! Today we have “Calm” in our diffuser.
My favourite place is our balcony. We have herbs, flowers and plants, it’s beautiful and has a calming effect on me. I just love relaxing on our balcony.
My favourite morning ritual is to cuddle my 5 year old twin boys in our bed. Followed by the best cappuccino, always prepared by my husband.
I love putting MĀ Moments Master Blend “Good Sleep” on the wood diffuser. It is so calming and perfect for unwinding after a long day. I also love to drink a cup of herbal tea in bed before going to sleep.
I always wanted to have a concept store and a place to connect with like minded women. I had a vision of a space where women were in the center - as designers, as creators, and as customers. I love supporting female founders. As a female founder myself I know the many obstacles there can be. I think there is so much work to be done regarding gender equality. With Maisonette I contribute a small but important part. I’m grateful I met so many great women in my store, friendships and collaborations were born here.
For me wellbeing means connecting to your inner voice. How are you feeling?
Often we forget this voice and then we end up being in a place that is not well. As a mother and store owner I tend to forget to take my breaks, but I’m getting better at this.
So wellbeing for me is about not forgetting to take care of yourself. Your Master Blends essential oils are my go-to essentials in creating a good atmosphere, which is also so important for my wellbeing.
At home, I love your master blend “Calm” At work, we often use “Vitality”.
Listen to your inner voice.
Welcome to the world of aromatherapy, where the power of scent can transform your work environment into a haven of productivity and wellbeing.
In today's fast-paced and high-stress workplace, finding ways to create a calm and focused atmosphere is essential for success. That's where diffusing essential oils comes in. Not only do these natural extracts offer a wide range of health benefits, but they can also help to boost your mood, improve concentration, and reduce stress levels.
Whether you're looking to enhance your creativity, create a more harmonious team dynamic, or simply add a touch of tranquility to your workspace, incorporating aromatherapy into your office routine can make a world of difference. So, join us as we explore the art of aromatherapy in the office and discover how diffusing essential oils can elevate your work environment to new heights.
Diffusing essential oils in the office offers a multitude of benefits that can positively impact both individual employees and the overall work environment. Firstly, essential oils have been shown to have a direct impact on our emotions and mood.
Scents like lavender, chamomile, and bergamot are known for their calming properties, helping to alleviate stress and anxiety. On the other hand, invigorating scents such as peppermint and lemon can boost energy levels and promote focus. By diffusing these oils in the office, employees can experience improved mental clarity and increased motivation, leading to enhanced productivity.
In addition to the emotional benefits, diffusing essential oils can also have a positive impact on physical health. Many essential oils possess anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, which can help to purify the air and reduce the spread of germs in the office. Oils like eucalyptus and tea tree have been used for centuries for their immune-boosting properties. By creating a clean and healthy work environment, diffusing essential oils can contribute to a decrease in sick days and an increase in overall well-being among employees.
Furthermore, the use of aromatherapy in the office can help to create a more harmonious and collaborative team dynamic. Certain essential oils, such as ylang-ylang and clary sage, are known for their ability to promote feelings of relaxation and reduce tension. By diffusing these oils in the office, conflicts and stress levels can be minimized, leading to a more positive and cooperative work environment.
Additionally, the pleasant scents can create a welcoming atmosphere for clients and visitors, leaving a lasting impression of professionalism and care.
When it comes to aromatherapy in the office, there are a few essential oils that are particularly popular due to their wide range of benefits. Lavender, known for its calming properties, is often the go-to oil for relaxation and stress relief. Its gentle floral scent creates a peaceful atmosphere, helping employees to unwind and find balance. Peppermint, on the other hand, is a stimulating oil that can enhance focus and mental clarity. Its invigorating and refreshing scent is perfect for those moments when a productivity boost is needed. This is why there is peppermint on our Master Blend Focus; a specially designed scent that promotes concentration and mental clarity. Other commonly used essential oils in the office include lemon, which promotes concentration and positivity ( you can also find it on our Focus Master Blend), and eucalyptus, which clears the mind and supports respiratory health.
It's important to note that everyone's preferences and sensitivities are different, so it's always a good idea to offer a variety of oils for employees to choose from. This allows individuals to select a scent that resonates with them personally and provides the desired benefits. By creating a diverse collection of essential oils in the office, employees can have the freedom to customize their aromatherapy experience and find the scents that work best for them.
Also, it will allow to choose a scent that works accordingly to the task that needs to be done. For instance, it is not the same a creativity or spreadsheet solo task than a meeting where there are agreements that need to be done.
One of the key benefits of diffusing essential oils in the office is its ability to enhance productivity. As mentioned earlier, certain scents, such as peppermint and lemon, are known for their stimulating properties. These oils can help to increase alertness and focus, making it easier for employees to concentrate on their tasks and stay motivated throughout the day.
By creating an environment that supports mental clarity and efficiency, diffusing essential oils can lead to improved work performance and higher levels of productivity.
Additionally, the use of essential oils can also help to reduce stress and anxiety, which are common productivity killers in the workplace. When employees feel overwhelmed or stressed, their ability to focus and perform tasks effectively can be compromised.
By diffusing calming oils like lavender or chamomile, the office atmosphere becomes more tranquil and soothing, allowing employees to feel more relaxed and less distracted. This reduction in stress levels can significantly improve productivity and overall job satisfaction.
When incorporating aromatherapy into the office, it's important to create a safe and effective environment for diffusing essential oils. Here are some guidelines to follow:
By following these guidelines, you can create a safe and enjoyable aromatherapy environment that maximizes the benefits of essential oils in the office.
However, if you prefer not to diffuser the oil into the whole environment of the office but, your want to provide scenting tools with aromatherapy to your employees, we have a mini diffuser of wood that works perfectly as a desk stress buster diffuser. This way, the employee chooses its best essential oil blend and can choose the time that wants to use it too.

Remember, it's important to offer a variety of oils to cater to different preferences and needs. Encourage employees to experiment with different scents and find what works best for them.
Also, a service that we do is to create bespoke scents for corporations and hotels in order to convey the values and emotions that the brand want to evoke. This process is very interesting as we create a signature scent logo.

This will not only benefit your physical wellbeing but also contribute to a more peaceful and centered state of mind during your holiday.
One of the best ways to enhance your holiday experience and promote overall wellbeing is to treat yourself to a spa day or indulge in a massage.
Many resorts and hotels offer spa services that range from massages and facials to body treatments and relaxation therapies. Taking the time to pamper yourself and indulge in these luxurious treatments can help relieve stress, reduce muscle tension, and promote a sense of relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether you opt for a deep tissue massage, a hot stone therapy, or a soothing facial, you'll leave feeling refreshed and revitalized. So go ahead, book that spa appointment and give yourself the ultimate self-care treat on your holiday.
Self-care activities are essential for promoting overall wellbeing and relaxation on your holiday. Taking a bubble bath can be a simple yet effective way to unwind and de-stress. Fill up your tub with warm water, add some soothing bath salts or essential oils, and let yourself soak in the tranquility. The warm water and calming scents can help relax your muscles and calm your mind.
Another self-care activity to consider is practicing aromatherapy. Essential oils like lavender, chamomile, and eucalyptus have been known to have calming and soothing effects. You can use a Ceramic Diffuser or simply add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to a tissue and inhale the aroma. These self-care rituals can help you create a peaceful and rejuvenating atmosphere during your holiday.
Are you tired of the chemical-laden air fresheners that only mask odors and do little to improve air quality? Have you been searching for a natural and effective way to purify the air in your home or office? Look no further than diffusing essential oils!
Not only do these powerful plant extracts provide a pleasant and uplifting aroma, but they also have the ability to clean the air of harmful bacteria and viruses.
From the immune-boosting properties of tea tree oil to the calming effects of lavender, there is an essential oil for every mood and need. Plus, with a variety of diffusers on the market, from ultrasonic to nebulizing, there is a diffuser to fit every style and preference.
So, if you're looking for a safe and natural way to improve air quality, give diffusing essential oils a try!
Diffusing essential oils is the process of dispersing the oil particles into the air to create a pleasant and aromatic atmosphere. This is typically accomplished through the use of an essential oil diffuser, which can be powered by electricity or by candle flame.
When an essential oil is diffused, it is broken down into tiny particles that are then dispersed into the air. As these particles travel through the air, they come into contact with airborne pathogens, bacteria, and viruses, which are then neutralized by the oil's antimicrobial properties. Additionally, the aroma of the essential oil can help to improve mood, reduce stress, and promote relaxation.
There are several types of diffusers available, each with its own unique features and benefits. Ultrasonic diffusers use water to disperse essential oils into the air, while nebulizing diffusers use a pressurized air stream to break down the oil particles. Heat diffusers use heat to evaporate the oil, while evaporative diffusers use a fan or other means to blow air over a pad or wick that has been soaked in the oil. Wood diffusers work by the capillarity and are the most natural ones. Each type of diffuser has its own pros and cons, so it's important to choose the one that best fits your needs.
Diffusing essential oils is a safe and effective way to clean the air of harmful bacteria and viruses. Unlike chemical-laden air fresheners, which only mask odors and do little to improve air quality, essential oils have natural antimicrobial properties that can help to kill airborne pathogens.
In fact, many essential oils have been shown to be effective against a wide range of bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
In addition to their antimicrobial properties, essential oils can also help to improve mood, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. This can be especially helpful in environments where people are prone to anxiety or stress, such as in the workplace or in the home.
By promoting a sense of calm and well-being, essential oils can help to create a more pleasant and productive atmosphere.
There are several essential oils that are particularly effective for cleaning the air of harmful bacteria and viruses. Tea tree oil, for example, has been shown to be effective against a wide range of bacteria, including E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus. It also has antiviral properties that can help to combat the flu virus and other respiratory infections.
Eucalyptus oil is another powerful antimicrobial oil that can help to clear the sinuses and promote respiratory health.
Lavender oil is known for its calming and relaxing properties, but it also has antimicrobial properties that can help to purify the air. Lemon oil has a fresh and invigorating scent, and it is also effective at killing airborne pathogens. Peppermint oil is another great choice for air cleaning, as it has a refreshing scent and can help to clear the sinuses.
Choosing the right diffuser for your needs can be a bit overwhelming, as there are so many different types and styles available. Some factors to consider when choosing a diffuser include the size of the space you want to diffuse, the type of essential oil you plan to use, and your personal preferences for style and design.
Ultrasonic ceramic diffusers are a popular choice for their quiet operation and ability to diffuse oils quickly and efficiently. They are also easy to use and maintain. Nebulizing diffusers are another great choice, as they do not require water or heat to operate, which can help to preserve the integrity of the oil. They are also ideal for larger spaces, as they can diffuse oils over a wider area.
Other factors to consider when choosing a diffuser include the intensity of the aroma, the duration of the diffusing cycle, and any additional features, such as color-changing lights or timer settings.
While essential oils can be a safe and effective way to clean the air, it's important to use them properly to avoid any potential risks or side effects. Some essential oils can be irritating to the skin or mucous membranes if used in high concentrations, while others may cause allergic reactions in some individuals.
To ensure safe use of essential oils, always dilute them properly before using them on the skin or diffusing them into the air. If you have a medical condition or are taking medication, consult with your healthcare provider before using essential oils.
One of the great things about diffusing essential oils is that you can create your own custom blends to suit your needs and preferences. Here are a few DIY diffuser blends that are perfect for air cleaning:
- Immune-boosting blend: 3 drops of tea tree oil, 3 drops of lemon oil, and 3 drops of eucalyptus oil.
- Calming blend: 3 drops of lavender oil, 3 drops of chamomile oil, and 3 drops of bergamot oil.
At MĀ moments we have created hand blended master formulas to convey certain emotions and atmospheres.
In addition to diffusing essential oils, there are several other ways to use these powerful plant extracts to clean the air. One option is to use essential oil sprays, which can be sprayed into the air or onto surfaces to help kill bacteria and viruses. You can also add a few drops of essential oil blends to your cleaning products to help disinfect surfaces and freshen the air. For example, our Master Blend Focus is ideal to disinfect and provide a fresh and clean atmosphere.
Another way to use essential oils for air cleaning is to add them to your humidifier. This can help to moisturize the air and improve respiratory health, while also providing the benefits of essential oils. Just be sure to check with the manufacturer of your humidifier to ensure that it is compatible with essential oils.
Q: Can I diffuse essential oils around my pets?
A: Some essential oils can be toxic to pets, so it's important to do your research and use caution when diffusing oils around animals. Avoid using oils that are known to be toxic to pets, such as tea tree oil and eucalyptus oil.
All the formulas of Master Blend Essential Oils at MĀ moments are pet safe for diffusing.
Q: How long should I diffuse essential oils for?

Our Ceramic Diffuser comes with different mist diffusing time-modes.
Q: Can essential oils help with allergies?
A: Some essential oils, such as peppermint and eucalyptus, can help to clear the sinuses and promote respiratory health, which can be helpful for those with allergies. The sense of smell is one of the most powerful senses we have. Our sense of smell is directly linked to the part of the brain that processes emotions, the limbic system. This is why certain scents can trigger strong emotional responses in us.
When we smell something, the scent molecules travel through the air and enter our nostrils. These scent molecules then bind to receptors in the olfactory bulb, which is located at the front of the brain. The olfactory bulb then sends signals to the limbic system, which is responsible for regulating our emotions, mood, and behavior.
Research has shown that different scents can have different effects on our emotions. For example, the scent of lavender has been found to have a calming effect on the mind and body, while the scent of peppermint can have an invigorating effect and boost productivity.
The process of scent perception is complex and involves a number of different factors. One of the key factors is the individual's past experiences and associations with certain scents.
When we smell something, our brain compares the scent to other scents that we have smelled before. If the scent is familiar, our brain will retrieve memories and emotions associated with that scent.
For example, if you have positive memories associated with the scent of pine trees, such as memories of holiday gatherings with your family, then the scent of pine may evoke feelings of warmth, happiness, and nostalgia.
Our sense of smell is closely linked to memory and can be a powerful tool for triggering positive emotions. This is because the olfactory bulb is directly connected to the amygdala and hippocampus, which are the parts of the brain responsible for processing emotions and memories.
This is why certain scents can bring back memories and emotions from the past. For example, the scent of cinnamon may remind you of baking with your grandmother as a child, while the scent of sunscreen may remind you of vacations spent at the beach.
There are a wide variety of scents that can have different emotional effects. Here are some of the most popular scents and their emotional effects:
- Lavender: Calming, relaxing, and soothing
- Peppermint: Invigorating, stimulating, and energizing
- Citrus: Uplifting, refreshing, and invigorating
- Eucalyptus: Clearing, refreshing, and rejuvenating
- Rose: Soothing, comforting, and romantic
- Vanilla: Comforting, calming, and relaxing
- Cinnamon: Warming, comforting, and nostalgic
- Sandalwood: Grounding, calming, and meditative
One of the easiest ways to use scents to create a mood in your home is to use essential oils. Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that contain the natural scent and flavor of the plant.
To use essential oils, you can add a few drops to our Ceramic Diffuser and let the scent fill the room. You can also add a few drops to a carrier oil, such as coconut oil or almond oil, and use it as a massage oil or in the bath.
Another way to use scents to create a mood in your home is to use scented candles. Scented candles come in a wide variety of fragrances and can be used to create a cozy, relaxing atmosphere in your home.
When choosing scents for your home, it's important to consider the mood or atmosphere you want to create. Here are some tips for choosing the right scents:
- Choose scents that you enjoy and that make you feel good
- Consider the time of day and the season
- Use scents that complement the decor and style of your home

There are many different ways to scent your home, including:

The sense of smell is closely linked to memory. That's why a particular scent can evoke powerful emotions and memories. The olfactory bulb, which is responsible for processing smell, is located near the amygdala and hippocampus, which are areas of the brain that are associated with emotion and memory. This means that when we smell something, it can trigger memories and emotions that are associated with that particular scent.
The connection between smell and memory is so strong that it has been used in marketing for decades. Companies use scents to create a positive association with their brand and to trigger memories of their products. Hotels have also started using this technique to create a unique experience for their guests.
In the highly competitive hospitality industry, creating a unique experience for guests is essential. A hotel scent can be a powerful tool for creating a memorable experience that sets a hotel apart from its competitors. A unique scent can also help to create a sense of brand identity and reinforce a hotel's personality and values.
A hotel scent should be carefully chosen to match the hotel's brand and personality. For example, a luxury hotel might choose a scent that is rich and complex, while a boutique hotel might choose something light and fresh. The scent should also be consistent and used throughout the hotel, from the lobby to the guest rooms.
A pleasant scent can have a significant impact on customer satisfaction. Studies have shown that a pleasant scent can increase customer spending, extend their stay, and even lead to positive online reviews. A hotel scent can create a welcoming atmosphere that makes guests feel at home. It can also help to mask any unpleasant odors that might be present in the hotel.
A unique hotel scent can also create a sense of relaxation and calmness. This is especially important in high-stress environments like airports and business hotels. A pleasant scent can help to soothe guests and create a sense of well-being.
A unique hotel scent can also increase customer loyalty. When guests have a positive experience at a hotel, they are more likely to return in the future. A unique scent can create a sense of familiarity and comfort that makes guests feel like they are returning to a familiar place.
In addition, a hotel scent can create a positive association with the hotel brand. When guests smell the hotel scent outside of the hotel, they will be reminded of their positive experience and be more likely to recommend the hotel to others.
Several hotels have successfully implemented unique scents to create a memorable experience for their guests. The Ritz-Carlton, for example, uses a signature scent called "The Ritz-Carlton, New York" throughout its hotels. The scent is a blend of lavender, eucalyptus, and ginger, and is designed to create a sense of relaxation and calmness.
Mandarin Oriental hotels use a signature scent called "Timeless" that is a blend of green tea and citrus. The scent is meant to create a sense of tranquility and well-being and is used throughout Mandarin Oriental hotels worldwide.
Choosing the right scent for your hotel is essential. The scent should match the hotel's brand and personality and create a memorable experience for guests. Here are some tips for choosing the right scent for your hotel:

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately felt a sense of calm wash over you? Or perhaps you've caught a whiff of a familiar scent and been transported back to a happy memory?
It's no secret that our sense of smell is powerful and can have a significant impact on our mood and emotions. That's where aromatherapy and aromachology come in - the practice of using essential oils to promote physical and emotional wellbeing.
But it's not just about pleasant smells - there's a science behind it too. Essential oils contain natural compounds that can have a therapeutic effect on the body and mind. From lavender to peppermint to eucalyptus, each oil has its own unique properties and benefits. So whether you're looking to reduce stress, boost your immune system, or improve your sleep, there's an essential oil out there that can help.
Let's dive deeper into the art and science of aromatherapy and aromachology, and explore how essential oils can improve your overall wellbeing.
The use of essential oils for therapeutic purposes dates back thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans all used aromatic oils for medicinal and cosmetic purposes.
In the early 20th century, French chemist Rene-Maurice Gattefosse coined the term "aromatherapy" and began to study the effects of essential oils on the body. Since then, aromatherapy has become a popular form of alternative medicine, with practitioners using essential oils to treat a wide range of conditions, from anxiety and depression to pain and inflammation.
Essential oils are concentrated plant extracts that are derived from the leaves, flowers, stems, bark, or roots of various plants. They are highly aromatic and contain natural compounds that give them their therapeutic properties.
Essential oils are extracted using a variety of methods, including steam distillation, cold pressing, and solvent extraction. Some of the most common essential oils include lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, tea tree, and lemon.
How Essential Oils Work
Essential oils work by interacting with the limbic system, which is the part of the brain that controls emotions, memories, and the autonomic nervous system.
When you inhale an essential oil, its molecules travel through the nasal cavity and into the olfactory bulb, which is responsible for processing smell. From there, the molecules travel to the limbic system, where they can have a direct impact on your mood and emotions.
Essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, where they can enter the bloodstream and have a systemic effect on the body.

Hi,
Welcome to our MĀgazine - where you will discover our world of inspiration around anything that brings us back to our center to enjoy a healthy and balanced life at its fullest. Here we will introduce you to our world and have conversations with collaborators and people that inspire us. People that share similar values to us:
We believe that the best things in life are not things. __
We believe in the power of connecting with nature. __
We believe in the healing power of art. __
We find beauty in simplicity. __
We believe a full life is made of great #MĀmoments. __
MĀ (間) is a Japanese concept that means the space within the space.
It applies to many aspects in life, we like one of the interpretations that understand MĀ as "an emptiness full of possibilities, like a promise yet to be fulfilled", and has been described as "the silence between the notes which make the music". Think about it for a moment: each song is made of several notes and within each of the notes there is always an empty space. If you do not respect that empty space, the melody will have no sense. MĀ is this empty space that makes the melody possible.
We interpret MĀ as that quiet moment we all need in our busy lives to make them meaningful. When you #findyourMĀ, you are centered, you give meaning to what you are doing.
The world is full of possibilities. The world is filled with MĀ.
Everyone has a MĀ (or more) that invigorates, brings calm, or whichever emotion makes you enjoy life most.
We aim to inspire (and scent) your #MĀmoments.
Everything you will experience at MĀ is based on our own interpretation merging our deep appreciation for art, design, and aesthetics combined with their mutual appreciation for the transformative benefits of a holistic lifestyle.
And why do we believe in scenting your moments with organic essential oils? Well, they make you feel good! Scent is the most powerful of the senses: When we smell something, it reaches the olfactory bulb in our brain, which is a part of the limbic system, where emotions are processed. With regards to wellbeing, the science of scent falls into two fields: aromatherapy and aromachology, which is the study of the influence of smell and different scents and how it can stimulate or trigger different behaviours, feelings, and emotions within the body.
So, we decided to start this journey by promoting wellbeing via organic, home scenting with our essential oil Master Blends and Diffusing Tools along with all the inspirational content you will find here in the MĀgazine. There is so much more to come, join us on our journey (hose who know us, know we won't stop dreaming up & creating new ways) to inspire you to #findyourMĀ .
Till then, we invite you to live life through scented emotions.

The use of essential oils for aromatherapy has been increasing in popularity, especially over the last years with many individuals buying essential oils to scent their homes and enjoy multiples wellbeing benefits.
However, one of the things people struggle the most is when it comes to find what is the purest quality of the essential oils they are buying.
When looking for a reliabe essential oil brand, check first how the essential oil is stored. The best type of packaging to protect quality of essential oils is glass. This is because pure essential oils are highly concentrated. As such, they can dissolve plastic bottles over time, tainting the oil.
If an essential oil is pure, it will come in a dark-colored bottle.
Organic products do not use any sort of pesticides or chemicals that you would like to breathe.
Trust brands that are providing you the Latin name of the plant, information on purity or other ingredients added to it, how oil was extracted, and the country in which the plant was grown.
At MA, we go even further in terms of transparency by sharing our chemotype ratings are published to demonstrate our commitment to purity, quality, and provenance.
Fragrance or perfume oils are made from essential oils combined with chemicals or entirely from chemicals. They're not suitable for aromatherapy — instead, look for bottles that contain a single essential oil in its purest form (100% essential oil with no other fillers).
Essential oils range in price, depending on how involved harvesting and production are. Within a line, there should be a wide variety of prices — rose absolute or sandalwood oils will be more expensive, while sweet orange oil will be on the less expensive end. If you find a rock-bottom price for an expensive essential oil, it probably isn't pure.
One experiment you can try would be to test the greasiness of the essential oils by rubbing them between your fingers. If you feel that the essential oil is greasy, it is very likely that a carrier oil, such as jojoba oil, has been added into the essential oil.
Carrier oils tend to give essentials oils a silky, oily texture. Pure essential oils are quick to absorb into the skin and do not leave a greasy feeling.
Be aware that you should never apply a pure organic essential oil directly into your skin. They always have to be mixed with a carrier oil if you are going to apply to your skin. Our MA Master Blends are pure essential oil Master Blends conceived to be used as home diffuser.
Sourcing for a good essential oil is not difficult once you have mastered how to differentiate which oils are pure and which are not. It is always important to do a bit of research to know how and where these oils are being extracted; and always compare the prices across brands to know what are the market prices of these essential oils.
Do remember that even if 2 essential oils carry the same name on their labels, their extraction methods, origin and species of plant might be different. This would result in a slightly different note when you compare them, but that does not mean that one is better than the other. Take your time and pick the one that best fits your body chemistry. From there, you will know that you are using an essential oil that is pure, and of superior quality.
Once you find your favorite essential oils, it is time to diffuse them and enjoy your #MĀmoment!
At MĀpeople we feature people that inspire us, today we introduce you to Mónica Valls -, she reflects on her favorite #MĀmoments and her vision for everything related to wellbeing.
Monica Valls is a real passionate about yoga and healthy nutrition. She was born in Barcelona 37 years ago and now lives there with her husband and 3 children: 2 girls (Clara 6 and María 4) and a baby boy (Bruno 10 months).
Seven years ago she tried her first yoga class and she was hooked. In 2015 she decided to train as a Certified Vinyasa Yoga and Prenatal Yoga teacher. Thanks to yoga, she started to become aware of the great importance of nutrition. For years she trained herself through courses, workshops and books until, in 2019, she decided to take a master's degree in nutrition and dietetics.
In 2020 she founded her own project, The Well Co. which focuses on organizing unique wellbeing experiences for hotels, corporations and individuals. She is re-defining the wellbeing scenario in Spain and beyond.
We love how she inspires many people to live a more conscious life. We are also inspired by her courage to reinvent herself while raising a family of three kids. Nina and her meet during a true #MĀmoment: a yoga class while both of them were pregnant.
Mónica is an authentic soul: vibrant, curious, calm and inspiring at the same time. You find peace and energy when she is around. Have you ever heard about Vitamin D people? She is a D+++++
At this very moment I am answering from my couch at home, while everyone is watching a movie.
My favourite corner of my house is my bedroom. I try to create an atmosphere of warmth and serenity by using linen duvet covers in neutral tones, linen curtains, a salt lamp and my MĀ Moments Ceramic Diffuser with the Master Blend Good Sleep half an hour before going to bed.
After Covid 19, I had to reinvent myself professionally and decided to set out on my own with a very passionate project for me. The Well Co. is the result of uniting my passion for healthy living with the need to create spaces for self-care and wellness for people.
I really like Ayurveda and try to do some of its rituals in the mornings. I start the day by cleaning my tongue with a tongue scraper and then I do some oil pulling. Then it is important to hydrate your body, so I drink a big glass of warm water with my supplements and leave 10-15 minutes before I have breakfast. Now in winter time, I alternate between porridge and avocado toast, but what I can never miss is my coffee with oat milk! I like to add adaptogens and a spoonful of collagen inside my coffee. If I don't have to take the girls to school, I try to meditate before starting my work day. Even if it's only for 5-10 minutes, I notice a huge difference in my mood and energy levels.
To unwind from a busy day, I really love taking a relaxing bath…but this usually never happens with three kids around! Hehe! So right now I’m happy if I can take a hot shower (ideally without interruptions), have an early dinner with my husband and watch some TV or even better read a good book. If I can have 5 minutes before bed to do a proper skincare routine, that’s a bonus for me!
Whenever I have a retreat or an event I organize, I'm always afraid I've forgotten something...so I always make lists of things and check them several times to make sure I have everything under control, even what I want to take in my suitcase that weekend!
For me MĀ is synonymous with quality, effectiveness and reliability. I also love the elegant design of the blends and the Ceramic Diffuser, it really is a pleasure for the senses and also for the eyes!
For me, wellbeing means feeling at ease with yourself on all levels (physical, mental and spiritual) and it means being authentic to your essence and your way of being.
My #findyourMĀ moment would be doing backcountry skiing with my husband on a sunny winter day, feeling the breeze on my face and the smell of wet pine. Upon returning home, he would light the fireplace while I jump into a hot bath with magenisum flakes and the MĀ Ceramic Diffuser with the Calm Master Blend.
I am inspired by many people, but I especially love my friend Marta Abril (@marta_abril), she is authentic. Her sustainable lifestyle, her "slow life philosophy" and her way of being is very inspiring.
Sleeping is an essential part of our days. It defines our mood, our energy levels, our capacity to respond to difficult situations and so much more. Yet, sleeping patterns depend on our daily activities and can be impacted by our behaviour and life choices.
Our bodies are set like clocks. They are meant to wake up when the sun goes up and go to sleep when it sets, it’s called the circadian rhythm. The solar rhythm affects our brain, body and even hormones to ensure we can keep up with it.
This is a lot less straightforward in today’s world, as our body has to follow a completely different rhythm which we dictate, regardless of what nature had in mind. To help restore your body’s natural cycle and experience better sleep at night, try to expose yourself to natural light as much as possible. It can simply be a short walk in the morning, a lunchtime stroll or even sitting next to a window.
The more time you spend outside the better the sleep quality in the evening as the body is finally resetting to its natural state and restores a healthy circadian rhythm.
The place where you sleep plays a key role in the quality of sleep you may get. While some of us may live in noisy cities, paying attention to other elements in your bedroom will have a tremendous impact on your ability to rest peacefully.
It is tempting, especially during winter, to increase the temperature in our bedroom and make it as cosy as possible. Although it may not seem like a bad idea, sleeping in a warm room has a notable effect on your sleep as the body needs to cool down to find the resting bliss point. Try lowering the temperature to 18°C to let your body come to a natural resting state.
While natural light will help you sleep, artificial and blue lights will without a doubt have the opposite effect. Ensure your bedroom is as dark as possible to allow your mind to fully let go and understand this is a place to rest, not a place for digital distractions.
The way your room is set up does impact the quality of our sleep. Ensure it is a relaxing environment, kept free of any mess or too cluttered. You can also introduce relaxing scents to create a calming ambience and help the mind slowly unwind.
Our MĀ secret: In your bedroom, diffuse MA’s unique Good Sleep blend. Imagined to appease the mind and help the body fully relax to promote better sleep, this unique combination of PetitGrain Mandarine, Lavender, and Cinnamon organic essential oils easily calms anxiety and balances the mind to let it completely relax and disconnect. Close your eyes. Relax. Sleep.
Planning a few workouts during the week is a great way to alleviate stress and keep healthy but it’s also an excellent solution to sleepless nights. As you work out, the brain releases hormones including melatonin, the sleep hormone, which, later on, boosts sleep quality.
When it comes to exercising, timing is everything. Avoid leaving it for the end of the day as it could have the opposite effect and keep you awake as the body would not have any time to wind down after a cardio session.
Food is just as important as exercise when creating a healthy and balanced lifestyle. Being mindful of your diet can significantly help improve the quality of your sleep.
Caffeine has a longer-lasting effect than you may think. In fact, it can keep you awake up to 10 hours after your last cup of coffee.
Similarly, alcohol also impacts the way you rest as it can cause drowsiness but will actually interfere with your sleep cycle as it will act as a stimulant a few hours after your last drink. Try to avoid both as much as possible after lunchtime to allow your mind to be free from any stimulants and able to rest peacefully through the night.
Large meals tend to make us very sleepy but will also be a cause of discomfort and can even cause heartburns. Refined sugars such as white bread, pasta and rice are also likely to interfere with your sleep as they will load the body with energy which it does not need during this restful period.
Pick a light, high in fibre meal that is easier to digest and will fuel your body through the night so it can fully disconnect and sleep calmly
Anxiety can be a trigger to sleepless nights. Going to bed while the mind is still focused on all stressful situations and sources of worry is likely to interfere with sleep quality.
Try to calm down from anxiety ahead of bedtime, for instance, writing down any sources of stress, upcoming tasks or difficult situations which you may have dealt with that day. Free yourself from those, setting them aside for the following day and let your mind fully disconnect to find a place where it can rest and recharge.
Meditation is a common practice to bring calm and help centre the mind. Known to help control and understand emotions, it is also a great way to promote sound sleep as the daily practice of mediations frees the mind from the outside effervescence and creates a soothing place.
Essential oils help boost meditation by unlocking emotions and feelings and enhance the soothing effect of this moment you take for yourself. This can also be an opportunity to try creating your own blends, to pause and show your mind and body some self-love. By allowing them to let go of any stress and tensions, your sleep will slowly become more restful and less agitated
Our MĀ secret: Ahead of your meditation practice mix together ten drops of the master blend Calm. The essential oils create a unique blend that enhances your meditation practice. Take a comfortable seating position. Slowly breathe in the unique scent, breathe out and let your mind relax. When the time comes to sleep tonight, your mind will be ready to fully disconnect and rest calmly.
At MĀpeople we feature people that inspire us, today we introduce you to Sasha Sabapathy-, she reflects on her favorite #MĀmoments and her vision for everything related to wellbeing.
Sasha is a very special inspiration for both of us since she is behind of what was one of our favorite spots in London anytime we would be visiting the city. A true visionary able to create places with soul, where one feels at home. She knows what a #MĀmoment is!!
We love how she has inspired many people to live a more conscious life.
Sasha is joy, energy, wisdom. A ray of sunshine. Glow. And much more!
At my home in North London sipping an iced matcha latte with hazelnut milk.
Being curled up on the sofa with my baby, Otti.
I think that I really got into wellness when I was in my mid-20s and living in New York City. I was burning the candle on both ends and developed burn out as a result. I ended up discovering adaptogenic herbs on my journey to healing myself in addition to discovering the benefits of limiting my gluten and dairy intake. Over time I started doing more yoga, working out more regularly and discovered infrared saunas which combined with my regular herbal concoctions and new diet changed my energy levels, mood and skin. After noticing a difference I began to do more research into Ayurvedic herbs, and founded Glow Bar, a wellness hub built on using natural alternatives to aid stress relief and improve overall well being, without being too exclusive or preachy. I’ve always been into natural healing due to my Malaysian heritage. Spices like turmeric and ginger were often consumed for their wellbeing benefits and we grew aloe vera in the garden for cuts and rashes.
Either making a celery juice first thing or when I forget to make it I generally have hot water with apple cider vinegar and an Ayurvedic herb called Ashwagandha which helps to keep my stress levels at bay.
I love to have a relaxing bath quite early in the evening as I am an early eater, so by 9pm I am in my pyjamas, skincare routine done. I am always in bed by 10.30pm or 11pm latest and never take my laptop into the bedroom.
Wellness is about a synergy between your body, mind and spirit. It is about balance and feeling happy.
I recently started doing acupuncture regularly vs the odd one off appointment. Having regular sessions really helps the body heal for whatever reason you are doing it for. I’ve really found that my sleep and health has improved as a result, I’m a convert!!
My personal philosophy is to find healthy habits you can sustain and wellness practices that you enjoy. I once tried a juice cleanse and it literally only lasted 8 hours.
At MĀpeople we feature people that inspire us, today we introduce you to Adriana Sintes. She reflects on her favorite #MĀmoments and her vision of wellbeing and how she aims to help people live a more conscious life.
A cosmopolitan but very well grounded soul, Adriana has very strong roots to Menorca (our favorite island, where she was born). Her island culture, family, the sea, nature, the good food, the real friends - all that defines her.
Since an early age, sport has been part of her life: at 6, she was already competing at Rhytmic gymnastics. She has a degree in Sport Sciences by INEFC in Barcelona, PEAK PILATES and a Health and Nutrition Master by UOC.
From sports, she acquired very good values, among them empathy, generosity, team spirit, constancy and sacrifice. But she also found some other things that were not so positive and she decided to use that as a driver to change the relationship we generally have towards sports and nutrition. There was a moment in her life that she decided that everything she would do at professional level, would aim to improve the relationship people have towards movement and nutrition.
Why is Adriana so inspiring to us?
She is pure, a soul full of generosity. A class with Adriana is pure bliss. It goes beyond Pilates. It is a transformative class. You leave her class full of energy, of good vibes. With a smile to live a better life.
From my office, working while I have my MĀ Ceramic Diffuser on. It is 12 pm, and I can hear the rain from the window while my dog, Bali, is on my lap. She is always close to me. Tom Odell, my favorite singer, is the soundtrack of this moment.
It really changes from day to day. But I do have a room that is now my office and Pilates studio where I love to spend time. I train, work, create ... also, I like just to spend time there, being in the moment. I guess you can call this is my place at home.
At a professional level, I admire everybody around me that have had the courage to start their own projects from a place of love and with the conviction that they are doing that thing that fulfills them, their passion. People that are living with a purpose – driven life, whatever it is. I am blessed to be surrounded by many people like that in my life.
At personal level, my uncle Toni. A carpenter, that now at his 77 years old is living a very humble lifestyle, connected to the things that make him happy: getting up early, walking by the sea every morning, and reading. He has a very quiet life in Menorca, very healthy food habits, is very self-aware, taking care of his family. Above all, I love the way he enjoys all the simple moments in life, which is what makes a great life.
Breakfast is always the first thing I do. 😊. I do really need a good coffee with oat milk. I like to enjoy it together with toasted bread or with coco yogurt and granola and some fruits.
After, I like to do all my facial skincare routine and dress up to kick off the day. Sometimes I decide to do some training before that.
I am not an early bird, so I am not always having a lot of time for me in the morning. It is something I would like to improve in the long-term.
I feel I have more energy during the mornings, so this is the best moment for me to train. I have often a very packed calendar in the afternoons with private classes. What I love to do the most the days that I finish early is to put on my air pods with my favorite slow-mood songs (like 7 hours of music) and just wander around with my dog Bali.
I always prepare ahead of the class all the information of the client such as sportive background, injuries, objectives and personal motivations. This really helps me a lot in order to customize the private class the best way possible according to their needs / situation.
Wellbeing is a mix of conscious movement, nutrition, self-awareness, and connecting with nature. Above all, it has to be aligned with the values that connect us with our essence as human beings.
By conscious movement I mean to exercise or move doing the things that we like and that makes us feel good. Conscious movement, understood that way, is the driver to be constant.
Only when you are aligned with all the above points, you reach a REAL holistic wellbeing stage which is matching what YOU need.
The “Less is More” approach. Believing in the beauty of simplicity. Yes, Simplicity is THE word. Right now this is the driver in everything I do in my life. I consciously try that everything I do, both at a personal and professional level, is linked to simplicity and lightness.
Hiking at Camí de Cavalls in Menorca, stopping at some of my favorite “beach cales” off summer season. I love to be there by myself. It is my very own #MĀmoment.
Sea and Mediterranean pine. It is an instant fresh scent.
Wow - so many great women. I really get inspired by all this amazing ones:

As we are more and more connected, days go by quicker than ever and it’s not always easy to fully relax before bed. As a result, we sometimes end up counting sheep for hours as the mind is still operating at full speed.
Our ability to fall asleep highly depends on the mindset in which we find ourselves as our head finally comes to rest on the pillow. That’s why being relaxed and calm ahead of bedtime is crucial to guarantee a good night's sleep. The rituals and practices below allow the mind and body to unwind and come to the relaxed place it needs to avoid another sleepless night.
It’s tempting to look at your phone, tablet or laptop right before bed. However, the blue light which is emitted through the screen is known to keep the mind active. The constant notifications from messages and other applications have a similar impact, keeping the mind buzzing and unable to disconnect.
Although work can be demanding, there are also tasks which we need to do at home that can cause stress and tensions. For instance, paying bills and other administrative chores can bring negative emotions to the mind. Try to avoid doing those right before bed and allocate time at a different moment to go through these.
As well, write down your worries earlier in the day to allow the mind to acknowledge and let go of them as it knows they are not suppressed and will be addressed later on. This way, negative thoughts can be kept to a separate time and give the mind the space it needs to fully relax.
Similarly to avoiding phones and tablets before bed, the bedroom should be a place to rest. It may seem like a good idea to install a TV at the end of the bed as it limits movement and allows you to watch a movie in a comfortable place, however, it can only confuse the mind. This space should only be a place to sleep where it signals to the brain that watching television and resting are two separate activities which happen in different rooms.
Reading is an excellent way to relax before bed. It allows the mind to escape reality and the body to relax, easing tensions and inducing sleep. Ideally, try to read in a different room as well to let the mind slow down first before making your way to the bedroom to fully rest. When creating this routine, you can also place an aromatherapy diffuser to help the mind soften as you go through the pages of the story.
Our MA Secret: Diffuse fifteen drops of Calm Master Blend next to your favourite place to read. Breathe in and out slowly. Relax and let your imagination follow the story of the book.
Mindfulness helps us recognise the positive things that are already present in our lives. Taking some time to reflect on our days and ourselves, to appreciate the things for which we are grateful, establishes long-lasting serenity.
Each day, take five minutes to acknowledge the happy moments you have experienced during the day and become aware of the mindset in which you find yourself. This daily practice will help centre the mind, release tensions and help the body feel more relaxed.
Breathing is the most grounding exercise to relax the mind and body at the same time. While it brings more oxygen to the brain and the muscles, essential to physically relax, it also helps focus the mind and let go of any worries.
Aromatherapy is a perfect supplement to breathing exercises as the unique scents of calming Essential Oils trigger positive emotions and enhance the benefits of deep breathing practices.
There’s nothing like a hot bath at the end of a long day to unwind and relax the body. It’s a perfect moment allowing for some quality time with yourself, kept away from any distractions and the noises. The warm water acts as a natural muscle relaxant, bringing peace and calm to the mind.
While you should avoid high-intensity exercise before bed, stretching is highly recommended as it will help release any tensions which may have built up through the day and induce relaxation.
Opting for gentle movements such as the child pose, slowly stretching the different muscle groups. Take this time to pause and let the body move gently to find a comfortable place where the mind can also soften and decompress.
Used since Ancient Times, essential oils have become more popular over the past decades as a supplement or therapeutic treatment to promote better health. Not only are they more present in beauty products, but they have also evolved to become part of a lifestyle that focuses on mental health and promotes natural wellbeing.
Discover more about the science behind essential oils, their use and how they interact with the body and mind to unleash their healing properties.
A simple definition of aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for its therapeutic properties.
There are many ways you can experiment with the practice of aromatherapy:
Diffusing essential oil is often suggested as the primary use for those concentrated natural compounds as it stimulates certain areas of the brain with the aim to trigger a positive response.
When we smell a specific scent, our nose collects miniature particles which are dissolved in the mucus of the respiratory system which protects the receptor cells called olfactory receptor neurons. Their role is to detect odours and transmit them as messages to the limbic system, known as the most primitive area of the brain, and the neo-cortex.
These two areas play a key role in defining our response to scents as the role of the limbic system is responsible for emotions and memories while the neo-cortex defines conscious thoughts.
Scents stimulate the limbic system which is placed near the middle of the brain and acts as a network within the central nervous system. Known as the brain of emotions, its role is to translate the fragrance to a specific sentiment, memory or thought.
The emotional response produced by the limbic system is then connected to sensory data from the thinking part of the brain; the neo-cortex. Together the two systems form a response that impacts our conscious thoughts and the mindset in which we find ourselves.
In fact, 75% of our daily emotions are affected by what we smell, without us realising it. A light and delicate scent will have a subconscious soothing effect on the mind while a strong and unpleasant odour will make us grimace in disgust.
Thanks to their anti-bacterial properties, many volatile oils such as lemon or eucalyptus essential oils can be used for other purposes and create natural, homemade cleaning products.
In this instance, the concentration of essential oils plays in their favour as it acts as a strong antibacterial and protects your home from any viral infections. However, it also allows the natural aroma to be released in the atmosphere, providing your entire family with the benefits of olfactory aromatherapy, guiding everyone’s mind to a positive and peaceful mindset.
Our MĀ Secret: Add a few drops of Focus Master Blend essential oil to a diffuser. Let the concentrated compound cleanse the air in your home and the fresh scent fill up the room. Inhale deeply. Let the exhilarating aroma awaken the mind.
Used through centuries, aromatherapy is widely recognised as an essential component to building long-lasting and balanced emotional well-being. Whether they are used topically to provide a natural remedy to specific physical conditions and support the body’s health, inhaled to elevate the mood or as a key ingredient to natural household products, essential oils provide a wholesome solution and create a positive atmosphere for the mind to be at peace.
Everyday life can sometimes become a little overwhelming, leaving us feeling like things are completely getting out of control. Work gets too busy, children are bouncing off the walls, social events (even Zoom ones) have become a daily habit.
There are so many elements that can impact our mental health and keep us from recharging our batteries. One crucial action to make it through this hustle and bustle is to remain calm. Take it as it comes and let go as much as possible.
When the brain is having a hard time navigating stressful moments and fast-paced lifestyles, essential oils offer a rapid solution to come down from the effervescent environment around us. Through their individual chemical profiles and unique properties, they bring serenity and tranquility to put the mind at ease.

Each of them has a unique profile but all have a powerful effect on the mind and the body, relaxing, stimulating, soothing or even arousing, essential oils can be used for various reasons. At MĀpeople we feature people that inspire us, today we introduce you to Victorine's world, she reflects on her favorite #MĀmoments and how she founded Pricc.
Victorine was born in London to Dutch parents and spent most of her childhood between Holland and England. After going to university in America to study history and politics, she was a journalist. She got into acupuncture when she was going through health problems that western medicine seemed less
successful in tackling. Victorine loved the practice but was frustrated that the customer experience had not yet been modernized. So she thought out to create a modern acupuncture brand that makes it easy to look and feel your best, the natural way.
Victorine is a pure inspiration to us. We love how she has modernized an ancient practice while being true and authentic to herself. Pricc is a heavenly oasis in the middle of the city.
As they say, "Nodoby forgets a Pricc" - and all starts from her vision.
I'm at Pricc which is in Notting Hill, London, working.
I really admire the brands Vanita Parti (Blink Brow Bar) and Inge Theron (Facegym) have built in the
UK wellness and beauty industry. Both my parents are inspirations in following your passion.
The bath.
I don’t drink coffee so my favorite morning ritual is getting a green tea from Starbucks (don’t judge). In a scent I guess it would be a green tea/lemon scent!
Taking a bath and watching Real Housewives!
Laughing with my friends and family or being in nature.
I love travelling to places where there are not a lot of people, and that are surrounded by beautiful nature. That probably explains why I love the mountains, both in the summer and winter.
I need to move to feel my best. Whether that’s with a workout or just walking around London listening to a podcast.

Named after the Latin term “dew of the sea”, Rosemary originated on the cliffs of the Mediterranean sea.
Popular amongst different cultures, its many purposes were noticed early. Greeks would burn it as an offering to the gods while Egyptians would leave the long sprigs in the coffins of their loved ones to honour them in their afterlife.
The powerful therapeutic properties of Rosemary were quickly discovered as a balancing and calming scent which was deemed to disperse negative thoughts and bring clarity to the mind. In the Middle Ages, it was also believed to protect from different diseases like the bubonic plague and its scent went spread by brushing the leaves on the doorstep of the house, to protect the family.
With many properties such as antiseptic, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant attributes, it presents remarkable health benefits and has been used as a natural medicine for hundreds of years.
Obtained through steam distillation, Rosemary now grows in Spain, France or Greece. Its herbaceous and woody scent offers a myriad of benefits, from cosmetic to medicinal, it is one of the most versatile and loved essential oils.
Rosemary essential oil is light, woody (we have classified it as herbal) and fresh. It is both energizing and settling, perfect in many days to day habits. It can be used safely on many occasions and promotes both physical and mental health.
The herbaceous scent of Rosemary essential oil instantly triggers memories of fresh air like an early morning breeze on the warm Mediterranean coast.
Its strong antiseptic and antibacterial properties make it a unique natural air cleanser. Used in a spray, it becomes a multipurpose disinfectant that can be used throughout the house to protect you and your loved one from any potential bacteria.
Rosemary essential oil can be used topically if needed once diluted in a carrier oil. Its detoxifying and mild sedative properties can boost immunity and wellbeing by helping the body expel toxins naturally.
Often used to relieve pain or stimulate blood vessels, it promotes better circulation through the body, allowing you to move more freely and feel lighter.
Another reason to love Rosemary essential oil is its famous power on the brain. Noticed early by the Greeks and Romans, it is known to have a unique effect on our memory, our feelings and emotions.
As it promotes alertness and relaxation, Rosemary essential oil boosts brain functions and helps the mind focus. Diffused in a room, it enhances the brain's memory, allowing it to retain more information and maintain concentration longer. It can also be used to help prevent feeling a bit too overwhelmed as it focuses the attention and restores balance in the mind, allowing it to focus better and follow a calmer path.
The green scent is also known to soothe the body and mind when used in a calming setting. Grounding, it brings clarity to the soul and untangles negative feelings. Simply adding a few drops of Rosemary essential oil to the bathwater helps the mind let go of unnecessary thoughts, giving more space to positive emotions.
Used for centuries, the distilled extracts of the sacred herb present unique properties to support the entire family’s wellbeing.
