Rosemary essential oil benefits

Discover the sacred herb.

Named after the Latin term “dew of the sea”, Rosemary originated on the cliffs of the Mediterranean sea.

Popular amongst different cultures, its many purposes were noticed early. Greeks would burn it as an offering to the gods while Egyptians would leave the long sprigs in the coffins of their loved ones to honour them in their afterlife.

The powerful therapeutic properties of Rosemary were quickly discovered as a balancing and calming scent which was deemed to disperse negative thoughts and bring clarity to the mind. In the Middle Ages, it was also believed to protect from different diseases like the bubonic plague and its scent went spread by brushing the leaves on the doorstep of the house, to protect the family.

With many properties such as antiseptic, anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant attributes, it presents remarkable health benefits and has been used as a natural medicine for hundreds of years.

Obtained through steam distillation, Rosemary now grows in Spain, France or Greece. Its herbaceous and woody scent offers a myriad of benefits, from cosmetic to medicinal, it is one of the most versatile and loved essential oils.

Three reasons why we love Rosemary essential oil

Rosemary essential oil is light, woody (we have classified it as herbal) and fresh. It is both energizing and settling, perfect in many days to day habits. It can be used safely on many occasions and promotes both physical and mental health.

Natural cleanser for the mind

The herbaceous scent of Rosemary essential oil instantly triggers memories of fresh air like an early morning breeze on the warm Mediterranean coast.

Its strong antiseptic and antibacterial properties make it a unique natural air cleanser. Used in a spray, it becomes a multipurpose disinfectant that can be used throughout the house to protect you and your loved one from any potential bacteria.

The body's best friend

Rosemary essential oil can be used topically if needed once diluted in a carrier oil. Its detoxifying and mild sedative properties can boost immunity and wellbeing by helping the body expel toxins naturally.

Often used to relieve pain or stimulate blood vessels, it promotes better circulation through the body, allowing you to move more freely and feel lighter.

The balance restorer

Another reason to love Rosemary essential oil is its famous power on the brain. Noticed early by the Greeks and Romans, it is known to have a unique effect on our memory, our feelings and emotions.

As it promotes alertness and relaxation, Rosemary essential oil boosts brain functions and helps the mind focus. Diffused in a room, it enhances the brain's memory, allowing it to retain more information and maintain concentration longer. It can also be used to help prevent feeling a bit too overwhelmed as it focuses the attention and restores balance in the mind, allowing it to focus better and follow a calmer path.

The green scent is also known to soothe the body and mind when used in a calming setting. Grounding, it brings clarity to the soul and untangles negative feelings. Simply adding a few drops of Rosemary essential oil to the bathwater helps the mind let go of unnecessary thoughts, giving more space to positive emotions.

Used for centuries, the distilled extracts of the sacred herb present unique properties to support the entire family’s wellbeing. From gorgeous locks to a focused mind, the energising and balancing herbaceous elixir is an everyday favourite to promote a positive environment for the body and the mind.
