Oriol is a creative. His areas of interest are always linked on how to create better spaces. Whether it is as an interior designer, as art director for very cool brands or when making custom-made furniture, he always puts first a “gentle living approach” in everything he does.

Oriol is pure creativity and exquisite taste with a Mediterranean touch.

Where are you answering from?

From the dining table, here in my apartment. Today, I've been all morning out with some appointments, so I am taking advantage of a chill workflow afternoon to answer you with time and no pressure.

What is your favorite place at home?

It changes depending on the weather and the time of the year. But, If I have to choose one, I would say the backyard. My mother & grandmother are big fans of gardening, so I am trying to learn from them by using this small urban space to bring a breath of countryside air.

What is your favorite morning ritual, aka #MĀmoment?

My breakfast. I wait for it since the night before. With a yummy fresh cheese over bread, an espresso, and some magazines… it is the perfect way to get the energy and positive mindset you need for the rest of the day.

What is your favorite evening ritual, aka #MĀmoment?

I don’t have a specific evening ritual. Each day asks you for different 'rituals' or activities. But, If I had to highlight an evening moment, I would mention my summer evenings, coming back from the beach, with salty skin, feeling very relaxed. The sun is going down and there is a fresh fish waiting for me at home. I love cooking it on the BBQ with friends and good wine.

Tell us something you always do before starting a new project?

Before working, I always spend some time creating a chill and relaxed atmosphere. The music and the smell are key elements for inspiration.

What is your biggest influence when you create?

I was born in Barcelona, and I spent all my childhood in El Maresme, a coastal area not far away from the city. So, if I have to answer you which has been my biggest influence, I would say the Mediterranean; because of its imagery, lifestyle, landscapes, aesthetics in general, all its craftsman’s’ expertise… The Mediterranean is and has been a constant source of inspiration for me.

How do you think interior design can help us improve our wellbeing?

I create functional spaces by taking into consideration how my clients will 'live the space'. By understanding how they will use the space, I am able to create 'stress free' environments. And this, has an impact on their wellbeing. You feel good where you feel good.

Any words of wisdom for an inspiring life?

Simple: I would say you cannot wait for luck to find you. There is work to do if you want to live an inspired life. Start believing in yourself, there is nothing you cannot do if you try it.

How do you #findyouMĀ? Can you describe how it smells?

I like to draw, walk contemplating nature and go sailing in the Mediterranean. That is why I could say that my scents refer to the Mediterranean: citrus, pine and salted water. I think my Master Blend is Vitality. This is the one that connects me the most with these moments. Although I love the earthy scent of Calm in the living room.

Who inspires you that you would like to see featured as a #MĀpeople?

I would say Carla Lloveras, from the wonderful hotel La Bionda, in Begur.
